Serial entrepreneur
Hardly few could argue about the indelible marks left on the Indian technology arena by this maverick Tamil businessman in over two decades. Starting out as fabrication contractor for MRL (now CPCL), this serial entrepreneur bought Sterling Computers from Robert Amritraj, father of the tennis star, Vijay Amritraj, in the 80s and created a sensation in the hardware circle by selling PCs for as low as Rs 33,000. The telecom bug bit him in the 90s when he launched Aircel that became a formidable force in South India. And Dishnet DSL, the country's first DSL ISP. Though his telecom jouney has ended with the selling of Aircel to Telekom Malaysia, and Dishnet to VSNL, wait and watch for this Harvard Business School graduate's next move.
