MNC trailblazer
Balu Doraisamy has been a trailblazer, having successfully driven a slew of MNC ventures. It was in the spring of 1982 that Doraisamy joined Digital Equipment Corporation, popularly known as DEC. DEC was a blue chip IT company, with popular mini computers like the PDP and VAX series. Doraisamy was given the responsibility of developing global accounts for DEC in the APAC region. He was quite successful in his endeavors, but DEC wasn't. In 1998, Compaq acquired DEC and Doraisamy was made the MD of Compaq India. He was instrumental in Compaq becoming a major player on Indian soil. In 2002, when HP acquired Compaq, he was retained as the president of HP India. This shows Doraiswamy's amazing marketing acumen.
