Angel of funding
Pravin Gandhi has straddled Indian IT for nearly three decades now. He was one of the early stalwarts at Hinditron in the 70s and was significantly involved in bringing Digital to India, the first MNC here post IBM's exit. Though he was also the MAIT president, but it would be as a private equity investor or VC in the IT sector where Gandhi's claim to fame rests. He is director of the $30 mn angel fund, Infinity Technology Investments as well as on the board of other VC firms like Avendus Advisors and Aavishkar amongst others. And, he shows no signs of slowing down as he recently launched Seedfund, another VC fund that has commenced operations with an initial corpus of around $10-15 mn and plans to fund 20 entrepreneurs over the next three years.
