Trend Micro Appoints Nath


Trend Micro has appointed Amit Nath as its country manager for India and SAARC. Earlier Nath led Trend Micro Value and Volume business, and Channels. Hye has over 10 years of experience in the IT industry spread across sales, marketing, operations, program management and management functions. Before joining Trend Micro, he has worked with Canon, Headstrong and Dell Computers in different geographies.

Jain is MD Perot APAC


Perot Systems has appointed Anurag Jain as managing director for the companys Asia Pacific region. In this new role, Jain will be responsible for heading the companys business development and market expansion. He will, however, continue to head the companys global applications solutions and insurance and business process solutions divisions. With over fifteen years of experience, Jain had founded two BPO businesses, Vision Healthsource and Brigade.

Crump is Verizon President
Verizon Business, a unit of Verizon Communications, has elevated D Blair Crump to the post of group president, worldwide sales. He would be responsible for the companys enterprise, wholesale, government and education sales efforts worldwide and would lead an organization of more than 5,000 sales and support professionals. Crump has been with Verizon since November 2006 as senior VP for international and premier sales serving the companys top 200 accounts.

Netherlands-based Fortunanzo has launched an online 3D flash game that features both Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and his Republican opponent John McCain. Desai Global HR Head at Geometric


Rani Desai heads Global HR at Geometric, replacing Rajiv Desai who moves to a new role of Vice President, Corporate Strategy within the organization. Rani has over 24 years of experience in managing a wide portfolio of HR functions, including partnering and strategizing growth of startup organizations. Besides IT, Rani has also worked in industries like pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, telecom, textiles, engineering, and shipping.

Sonit Jain Gets Bhartiya Udyog Ratna Award
Institute of Economic Studies (IES) recently conferred the prestigious Bhartiya Udyog Ratna award to Sonit Jain, founder and CEO of GajShield Infotech, a provider of integrated security solutions. The company was awarded the Excellence Award for the outstanding achievements in the field of Internet security. The company statement reported that it was under the leadership of Sonit Jain that the company accelerated growth and gained strong market acceptance for its integrated security platforms.

Satyen Vyas Joins Dell


Satyen Vyas, promoter and director of Bangalooru-based Vitage Group has sold his stake in the company and joined Dell as director, SMB. Company sources confirmed that he has quit the organization. However, they declined to share any details pertaining to the stake that has been sold or its value. The corporate communications in Dell too confirmed that Satyen Vyas has joined Dell as director of SMB. Vyas was a promoter of Vitage Group and Director since 1996.

Sanjeev Soni Quits Amconics


After having about a two-year stint in the Hong Kong-based PC display and components manufacturer Amconics Infotech Solution, Sanjeev Soni has moved out from the company. Having joined in 2006, Soni served the company as a country manager for India. Soni has over a decade of industry exposure. Prior to joining Amconics, he has worked in several IT companies like Nebula, etc.

Pai of Infosys & Koppar of K2 Felicitated
The Karnataka government has selected ninety people, including Mohandas Pai, HRD chief of Infosys and Ananth Koppar, chairman and CEO of K2 Technology for this years Karnataka Rajyotsava Award. Pai, who joined Infosys in 1994, has served the organization in various capacities. In 1997, Koppar founded Kshema Technologies and grew it to a large niche technology services provider in six years. Kshema merged with MphasiS in 2004.

Ravi Sharma Quits Datacom
Ravi Sharma has quitted as the chief executive officer of Datacom. He had joined Datacom in March 2008. Earlier he headed Alcatels business in India. Sharmas exit adds to the troubles of Datacom whose promoters have been fighting over the companys valuation. While Videocon holds a majority stake in the company, HFCLs chairman, Mahendra Nahata, owns about 36% stake.

Ramaswamy is Director at EMC India
EMC today announced the appointment of Viswanath Ramaswamy as Director, Channels & Strategic Alliances for India and the SAARC region. In this role, Viswanath will be responsible for further strengthening EMCs channel and partner model for local and global system integrators (SIs) in the region. He will also be responsible for EMCs distribution and Systems Integrators strategy, strengthening existing partnerships and alliances and establishing new ones to increase EMCs coverage of diverse markets across India.

Hanif Lalani New CEO at BT


Hanif Lalani has replaced Francois Barrault after he resigned as the chief executive at BT Global services and as BT group board director. Lalani was working as group finance director and has held a series of senior posts at BT.
