Avinash Agarwal New Narus MD
California based Narus, has appointed Avinash Agrawal as its managing
director for India and would operate from the companys Bangalore facility.
Avinash brings more than thirty years of experience in global software and
management services. In this role, he will be responsible for Narus Indiawide
operation and directly overseeing Narus R&D effort here.
Shrihari Bhat Joins FIS
Fidelity National Information Services has appointed Shrihari Bhat as senior
vice president and country managerIndia Markets. Shrihari will be responsible
for growing the FIS business in the region, heading sales, professional services
and operations. Prior to joining FIS, Shrihari was with First Data Corporation
and before that with NCR. In both companies, he has been responsible for
developing and implementing their strategies in the Indian market.
Sundeep Dronawat Joins BPO Sutra
e-sutra Chronicles has appointed Dr Sundeep Dronawat in the advisory board
of BPO Sutra. Dronawat has over fifteen years of experience in Marketing, IT and
Entrepreneurship and is currently the president and general manager of
Bellwether Software headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. He has been the
CTO at a Fortune 500 company and CIO at a publicly traded US company and
co-founder of Rural America IT.
Former Yahoo! Executive to Head MS OSG
Microsoft has announced recently that Dr Qi Lu, a former executive vice
president of engineering with Yahoo! will join the company as president of the
Online Services Group. He will join Microsoft from January 2009 and will lead
Microsofts efforts in search and online advertising and all the companys
online information and communications services.
Nuclues Appoints New Chairman
Nucleus Software has appointed Janki Ballabh as its board chairman and an
additional director on the board of directors. Earlier, Ballabh was the chairman
of State Bank of India and the State Bank Group. At present, he is associated
with UTI Trustee Company as its chairman, and is a director on the boards of
Tata AIG Life Insurance.
BMC Appoints New Country Manager
BMC Software has appointed Naveen Reddy as the new country manager for
India. He will be responsible for leading the account teams to drive sales and
revenue growth across India. A professional with over fifteen years of
experience in enterprise technology, Reddy was working with HP as regional
manager for HP Software for north and east India.
Rajiv Kaul Joins Blackstone
Blackstone Group has hired on board Rajiv Kaul, former chief executive
officer of Microsoft India, and recently a partner with Actis Capital, a private
equity fund focused on emerging markets, to head the operations of the latest
addition to its portfolio. Blackstone recently acquired a majority stake in the
domestic business of CMS Computers.
Infogain Appoints UK and Middle East Heads
Infogain has appointed Mark Collin as vice presidentUK and Europe, to head
the companys European operations. He will be working with a highly experienced
senior management team based in Manchester. In the Middle East, Neeraj Chhibbar
has been appointed as managersales and business development for the Middle
East, based in Dubai, and will be responsible for markets in UAE, Qatar,
Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Yemen.
Saksena Joins Tellabs
Tellabs has named Dr Vikram Saksena as its new executive vice president and
chief technology officer. Saksena has over twenty-five years of telecom industry
experience. At Tellabs, he will be responsible for technology strategy and
business development. He will focus on strategic technology initiatives for
Tellabs. Saksena recently served at Sonus Networks as chief technology officer
and chief scientist.
Ramadorai Awarded
S Ramadorai, CEO and managing director of Tata Consultancy Services has been
awarded with the Nayudamma Award for 2008. It was conferred to him for his
outstanding contribution to information technology. Jointly instituted by RMK
Engineering College and Nayudamma Center for Development Alternatives, the award
consists of plaque, citation and certificate.

Mindcrest Hires US Experts
Mindcrest has hired four experienced US lawyers and a training specialist to
keep up with the rapid growth expected in 2009. The five new hiresMichelle
Vega, Colleen McGill, Rana Rosen, Deirdre Byrne and Mike Duffywill help expand
existing service lines and help Mindcrest get into new work areas. Vega, Byrne
and Rosen have moved from the New York City and will now be based in Mindcrests

Ramachandran Joins Infotech Enterprises
Infotech Enterprises has recently appointed Prof J Ramachandran as its
additional director on the board. Ramachandran is BOC chair professor of
business policy at the IIM Bangalore. A qualified chartered and cost accountant,
Ramachandran obtained his doctorate from the IIM Ahmedabad. His major research
interest is in the area of internationalization of firms from emerging
economies. He will be focused toward enhancing the overall growth of the
company.
Alcatel-Lucent Gets New AVP
Alcatel-Lucent has appointed Paul Tufano as the companys new executive vice
president and chief financial officer. Based out of Paris, he will be a member
of the companys management committee. Tufano replaces Hubert de Pesquidoux,
chief financial officer and president of enterprise business, who has decided to
leave the company. Tufano served as executive vice president and CFO of
Solectron.
Mehta Quits Avaya
Niru Mehta, vice chairman and managing director, Avaya GlobalConnect has
opted to quit the company and will now be shifting base to the US. While the
company is looking out for a new CEO, the present president Anil Nair will steer
the wheel for Avaya GlobalConnect as the acting CEO. Mehta has served Avaya
India for the last eleven years. Under him, Avaya India had grown manifolds both
in APAC and globally.
Kawai Joins Infotech Japan
Infotech Enterprises has roped in Nobuyuki Kawai as vice president, sales
and representative director, for its subsidiary Infotech Enterprises Japan. In
his new role, Kawai will be responsible for business development in Japanese
market and creating brand awareness for Infotech Enterprises. Infotech
Enterprises commenced its Japan operations in engineering design services in
August 2008. Kawai has over thirty-three years of experience in the IT industry
including stints with TCS and Siemens PLM software in Japan.
Jeya Kumar,MphasiS CEO Resigns
Jeya Kumar, CEO, MphasiS, has resigned, to pursue external career
opportunities. Jeya Kumar, was CEO from February 2008 and will continue as CEO
and on the board of directors till a new appointment is announced. Jeya Kumars
tenure at MphasiS has been brief but eventful. With his vision and guidance, he
steered the company through 2008 and the merger into EDS and its subsequent
takeover by HP. Prior to MphasiS, Jeya was with Sun Microsystems where his last
assignment was that of senior-vice-presidentservices group and a member of
Suns executive management group.
Alcatel Elevates Dolan as President
Alcatel-Lucent has appointment Sean Dolan as its president of the Asia-Pacific
region. He would replace Etienne Fouques, who will retire early next year.
Before this Dolan worked as chief operating officer with Alcatel, Asia Pacific
region. He would be a member of the companys management committee and would be
based in Shanghai. His experience and understanding of the region and market
opportunities will be crucial for Alcatel in to achieving business success in
APAC.
Neeraj Roy in MEF Asia Board
Hungama has announced that the companys managing director and chief
executive officer, Neeraj Roy has been appointed as the chairman, Asia Board of
the Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF), at the recent annual general meeting held
during the Mobile Asia Congress in Macau. He replaces Stefan Rust, MEF Asia
founder who handled the responsibilities of MEF as a chairman as well. The MEF
Asia board will work closely with the Global, EMEA and Americas chapters and
continue to bring innovation to the forefront of the telecom, media,
entertainment and advertising industry. Having being closely associated with
digital ecosystem in the region, Neeraj has been recognized for his contribution
in developing an industry for digital content in the region under the Hungama
brand.
Ericsson Appoints Achibar
Ericsson has appointed Gowton Achibar as the head of its operation in India
and Sri Lanka. As managing director of Ericsson India, Achibar brings extensive
leadership and experience from the telecom industry to his new role. Achibar
will be responsible for maintaining and strengthening Ericssons leadership
position within the market. He will ensure the companys value proposition
across its entire portfolio of products and Services are suitable for the market
