It has been a slow but steady climb for Accel ICIM Frontline. In 2003 rankings, it stood at #20; in 2004, it climbed 10 ranks to #10, and this year, it tops the 'Three Star' category. Accel has climbed five places in terms of HR and held on to its last year's rank of #8 on employee satisfaction.

At #12 on our HR scorecard, Accel's performance is a reflection of the growth strategy the SI had chalked out in the last fiscal. And its management has seen to it that employee morale remained unaffected despite the changes that took place within it. Accel entered into a joint venture with Singapore-based Frontline Technologies and rechristened itself. However, retention continues to be sticky area for the company (rank #18).

Accel has emerged at the #2 spot on appraisal ratings, just behind HCL Infosystems. Nearly 46% of the respondents expressed strong satisfaction on career and growth opportunities. Over 77% of the employees expressed strong satisfaction in the overall image of the company and agreed to the statement 'I would definitely recommend this company to close friends seeking employment'. Only 16% strongly felt that they would quit the company for a 20% hike in pay. More importantly, employees expressed strong faith in the company leadership.

There seemed to be some sense of disassociation among employees; nearly 27% of its employees felt that the company took time to communicate major decisions. Another 44% said they received low to moderate encouragement in terms of innovation and empowerment at work.

Another area of concern for the company is 'sensitivity to women-related issues', where Accel did not make it to the Top 20 companies. Employee response to the issue 'I feel a sense of belonging in this company' was also an area where the company failed to make it to the Top 20.
