The most talked about BPO, Wipro Spectramind was re-christened Wipro BPO to allow for a greater focus for the Wipro brand name. While business in the financial year 2004-05 went on as usual, the BPO began shifting its strategy towards consolidated solutions in transaction processing, which it believes is the next stage of maturity in its business. The change in business focus, was one of the reasons that there was a big churning at the top managerial level. Biggies like Raman Roy, Raj Datta, Mahesh Nair and Neelu Paul were among those who put in their papers. However, the company is strong on its feet with newer management (led by TK Kurien) and the newer offering of Business Optimization Services (BOSS). Wipro BPO envisions a 40% share of the revenue pie coming from this sector in the next 3 years. A new facility was added in Kolkata last year, and another facility is in the offing in Europe by December 2005. Telecom, including ISPs, accounted for over 40% of revenues.
