Top US bank JP Morgan geared up to set its second back-office research operation in Bangalore even as it already operated a captive BPO outfit in Mumbai-its first in India-employing a little under 2,000 people across two centers. These centers handled the bank's key global transaction process services. Though the US anti-outsourcing wave had little impact on India operations, the Indian government's decision to tax foreign companies outsourcing jobs to India put some spanner on more high value jobs coming here.
