The Bangalore captive center of America Online Member Services (AOLMS), catering to about 35 mn customers, ramped up slower in fiscal 2005. Worldwide, AOL lost about 2 mn subscribers y-o-y in FY 2004-05 and some of the parent company's woes were not lost on the Indian operations. New recruitments in the Indian operations were slower than last year, with BPO attrition rates touching 60-65% in December 2004, according to industry sources. The Bangalore operations offer anti-spam, and content management services for AOL.
