For PCS Tech, the previous year got extended by three months, closing on June 06, for which the company posted Rs 421 crore. For the nine-months ended March 07, the companys top line stood at Rs 248 crore. However, if we factor the last fiscal on a twelve month basis, the company has posted a negative growth of 5% y-o-y. The bulk of revenues came from its Orion and Prodigy line of desktops.

In a year that saw two CEOs exiting Keane worldwide, it was not surprising that it had its impact on India operations too. To that end, it sold off its Contract Manufacturing Services (CMS), a Rs 28 crore revenue business to Incap Corporation of Finland for an undisclosed sum. After offloading CMS, TVSEs two key business areas remain customer support and transactional printers. DMPs constituted for bulk of the revenues on a volume of 2 lakh shipments.

For any commoditized products company, volumes are the key. But volume growth is pretty difficult in segments like DMPs and Inkjetsmarkets with high saturation levels. Yet, Epson pulled through another year with good growth on DMPs with a 42% market share. On single function Inkjets, it shipped 82,046 units and closed the fiscal with a market share of 19%. It dominates the point of sale printer market with a share of 55%.
