BPO Rankings: 21 | EFunds: Not Just a BPO Player
eFunds focused on acquisitions; but its growth metric was transactions, not headcount
Monday, August 28, 2006

Unlike other pureplay BPO players, eFunds positioned itself more as a financial services provider who used BPO as just another arm of service delivery. The company thus desisted from using number of employees as a metric of growth. Instead, number of transactions was considered to be the engine and this consequently fostered the concept of automation across the company. The agreement signed with Société Générale of France, one of the largest financial services groups in Europe, to provide complete card processing services for the bank's international retail subsidiaries was the highlight of FY '06. On the inorganic growth front, eFunds acquired WildCard Systems, a provider of prepaid and stored value solutions to financial institutions, retailers and other payment issuers, as well as the ATM managed services and payments processing interests of India Switch Company from the HMA group.
