This New York-based BPO major has 67% of its workforce based out of India, and manages clients in 14 locations spread across USA, Canada, India and the Philippines. Sutherland's clients include big names from across verticals-banking and financial services, retail, IT and communications.

Expansion seemed to be the flavor for the company last fiscal. It not only set up its operations in Manila, but also scaled it up to 750 employees by March 2006. Sutherland strengthened its presence in Europe by setting up a new subsidiary in London. It also started recruiting local talent to suit the European-specific outsourcing needs.

This was followed by the India expansion plans-a new facility in Chennai and a service delivery and training center infrastructure, on 25 acres, in Kochi.
