SAS Superguide: Network Integration
Monday, August 28, 2006

As Lan and internet connectivity have become the cornerstones of a robust IT infrastructure,  traditional vendors and maintenance companies have evolved to become comprehensive network integrators. Today, they not only provide software and computer systems, but also carry out complete networking projects on a turnkey basis. Advanced network integration services include management of converged or next generation networks that carry data, voice, and video. Sourcing products and services from different vendors, network integrators provide integrated solutions to user enterprises. This also includes network planning, deployment testing, and bandwidth optimization services for companies.

Small companies that are primarily dependent on local area networks may not require services of network integrators on an ongoing basis. However, bigger users dealing with unpredictable work loads and mission-critical information transactions prefer to take services from those network integrators that not only provide the equipment, but also give complete network management solutions. And they're signing stronger SLAs.
