With PCMM Level 5, NIIT Technologies boasts of strong
people practices. NIIT also offers a competency-based framework. Centers of
Competence in technical, behavioral and functionla areas have been formed.
Based on its vision document, a set of new benefit schemes
was introduced for NIITians in the year 2005-06. These schemes touch upon and
lay emphasis on creating the capacity to grow, Fun@work and work-life balance.
To aid individual enhancement and growth, NIIT introduced a framework for moving
to higher roles through role change panels. A job rotation policy was also
introduced for all round career growth and effective seeding of new roles.
Changes have also been incorporated in the Variable Compensation plan in order
to make it more competitive. As a result, though NIIT figures low on employee
satisfaction, it has shown marked improvement on its HR score over last year.

While NIIT has managed fairly well in retaining employees,
ranking number 9 among the top 20, attrition at lower level is still an area of
concern that the management recognizes. Page(s) 1
