Cables are planning to implement it in phased manner. The company will initially
implement it in one location and eventually spread it across other locations.

the first phase, it will implement it in one of its factories. The company is
still evaluating the right vendor and soon it will be finalized. Vendors under
evaluation are SAP, Baan, JD Edwards and Oracle.

The
time has come to get rid of legacy applications
The company currently has four factories and seven branches and all are
connected through WAN and LAN. Last year, it has increased the usage of VoIP
that resulted in huge savings of around Rs 1.5 crore for the company. The
workflow automation and e-mail introduction helped in reducing the cycle time of
the company.
RPG Cables has drawn up plans for expanding its optic fiber cable capacity.
It is foreseeing a quantum jump in demand as the company is utilizing less than
50% of its installed capacity. The capacity would be increased thrice to the
size.
The company also expects good inflow of orders for jelly filled cables from
telecom sector. It is also expecting good demand from the private sector.
