Samsung Electronics India: Great, but Small Still

Its HR track record is among the best, but its small staff count saw Samsung getting left out of the survey

AFTER ITS six year presence in India, Samsung India is recognized as a leading provider of consumer electronics and home appliance products. Samsung would have been ranked among the Top 20 best employers in India. However, because the number of its employees (24 in India) is below the minimum figure required to qualify for the survey, th company was not considered for ranking. Not a single employee left Samsung India in 2001-02 and every employee got a salary hike. And unlike most other companies, Samsung revisesb salaries every six months. The average cost to company for employees with less than two years of experience was Rs 3 lakh. The average training hours per employee came to 63 hours per year and of which 36 hours were devoted to soft skill training to marketing professionals. The company recruited six new professionals during 2001-02.
