RANK 19: Kshema Technologies: Staff Turnaound Woes

It had the worst attrition and retention scores in the industry, but still managed to climb into the rankings

NE--New entry

This small Bangalore-based company is a new entrant which, surprisingly, performed reasonably well on some key parameters—10th on overall satisfaction, 11th on training and 11th on average salary. It suffers, however, from short employee tenure—2.2 years against an industry average of 3.5 years per employee. And the highest attrition in the industry at 53.2%. Retention was also way below the average at 61.1%. However, 38.7% of its own employees named it their dream company, though 25.8% preferred Infosys and another 16.1% voted for IBM. Kshema employees did not join the company for the technology they would get to work on, but are very happy with that attribute. However, they gave the company some of the lowest comparative scores on facilities, job content and security, work culture and its performance appraisal system.
