RANK 13: Rolta India: Hot on Tenure

Low on some parameters, Rolta scored high on four critical essentials—that saw employees stick it out

Dataquest

Tuesday, September 10, 2002

TV Holay
executive director, HRD

NE -- New entry

This 20-year-old company did well on tenure, with employees staying for an average of 5.7 years—next only to HCL Infosystems. A new entry in the survey, it also did well on attrition and retention (4th in both). The company was, however, ranked 15th on overall satisfaction scores and 10th on perceived peer satisfaction. Average salaries and perks were also relatively lower. The parameter that pulled down its ranking was "preferred company", where it ranked 16th—the only people who voted for it were 33.3% of its own employees. Of the rest of the employees, 36.7% voted for Infosys, 13.3% for Wipro and another 10% for TCS. However, employees said they were very satisfied with all the four attributes for which they joined the company—job content, security, company image and the technology they’re working on.
