HCL Infosystems is among the oldest companies to take part in the survey and
it rose in the rankings from 15 last year to 11 largely because it had the
longest average employee tenure in the industry—11.7 years, against the
average of 3.25 years. Some of its other HR indicators also improved, including
attrition (#12) and retention (#14). The company, however, scored low on average
salary and perks, and ranked 11 on overall satisfaction of employees. Over 55%
of its own employees voted for it as their dream company. Among those who didn’t,
11.8% said Wipro and 8.8% Infosys. Money was among the top four reasons why HCLI
employees joined, and the one on which they weren’t too happy. But it had
among the hghest scores on professional competence of peers, policies,
procedures and work climate.
