RANK 10: Tata Consultancy Services: Lowest Attrition

It was the runaway leader in offering job security and overseas opportunity, but low on facilities

The largest IT employer in the country fell in rankings from #6 to #10 to low scores on salary (#15), overall satisfaction (#17) and the lowest perception of peer satisfaction. However, it was also the company with the lowest attrition rate at 4.1% (down from 12% last year) and was next only to Infosys in retention at 95.7%. Despite its size, TCS has managed to maintain its training focus (#5) and is still the 4th-most aspired for company—5.7% of all IT employees voted it their dream company, compared to 4.4% last year. The number of its own employees voting for TCS went up marginally, from 59% to 59.3% (11.1% of the rest voted for Infosys, 9.3% for IBM, and 7.4% for Wipro). TCS employees gave it very high scores on job security and overseas opportunity and among the lowest on internal communication and facilities.
