The leader in the CAD/CAM and GIS conversion services markets, which entered the ISP business last year, stands at #15 this year, against #22 previously. The Mumbai-based company reported revenues of Rs 253.16 crore and a net profit of Rs 90.86 crore in the year ended December 2000. While profits grew by 43%, net profit was up by 51%. The company’s gross block grew by 75% to Rs 225.46 crore. Rolta was placed at #16 in sales and #9 in both profit growth and gross block growth. It was placed at #11 in ROCE, which improved from 25% to 33%. Rolta has been consistently increasing its conversion capacity, which has led to sustained growth in the past few years. However, its ISP business continues to remain a drag, despite the company having been rated as one of the best ISPs in Mumbai city.
