Analyze this—97% of employees said working in the company was a short-term job opportunity.

Nearly 41% said they were very stressed, and over half would rather work in another industry altogether. That more or less is the story at HCLT’s BPO arm. Overall satisfaction is among the lowest in the industry, though the company’s relative strengths seemed to revolve around decent employee satisfaction on salaries and appraisals (ranked 6th on both).

Interestingly, the company had among the highest scores on the statement “this company lives up to the promises it made in its advertisement”. Also, there was a sense of job security that at least matched the industry. It was perhaps this combination of satisfaction on salary and job security, along with the branding of HCL Tech, that made 42% of its own employees name it as their dream company (rank 8). Nearly 12% each of its employees named Infosys and Convergys as their dream companies.
