Even as employee rankings of HCL Infosystems improved, the HR rank slipped to #18, from #4 last year. As a result, the company slipped one rung in overall rankings to 12th place. Employees were most satisfied on the people, job content and overall satisfaction parameters. A reflection of that is the fact that 97.5% of employees said their manager encouraged them to speak freely at meetings. But only 32.5% of its own employees named it as their “dream company”, compared to over 55% last year. Another 20% named Infosys. Attrition was also a bit of a worry at 13%—among the highest in the top 20. Key employee issues—only half the employees felt strongly that they were paid enough for the work they did. Also, it was largely felt that the company’s management was not communicative about any decisions or changes made. About 75% of employees felt the biggest impact of the recession had been a reduction in salary increments.
