At Noida-based HCL, the ride has been tough for the employees, with 36.1%
claiming that their job is stressful. Also, compared to an industry average of
81.2%, only 61.1% looked forward to every days work. Only 50% of the employees
felt that the company's infrastructure was good and helped them in work.
Employee views on operating procedure standards are also amongst the lowest in
the industry. On a more positive note, 72.2% said they would recommend the
company to close friends. This however, was powered by employee satisfaction
over receiving immediate recognition by superiors for outstanding work (72.2%).
36.1% of the workforce felt restricted when it came to the freedom of decision
making with regard to their work.
Nearly half the staff members felt that the company was not so sensitive to
its women employees and only 38% felt that they did received an immediate
response to their issues and problems.

opportunity in the firm and 58.3% felt secure in their jobs. HCL's brand name
gave the necessary impetus to employees, of whom 25% rated HCL as their
preferred employer.
