Green was one of the major themes for Wipro Technologies, both in terms of
solution offerings and on-campus initiatives. While on the one hand the company
strengthened its suite of green IT offerings including consulting, carbon
accounting of green data centers, paperless office and freight management
solutions, it also launched a companywide Eco Eye initiative.
On the HR front, there was some confusion over the decision to offer
re-deployment 13,500 software engineers to work for its BPO operations though
the matter was settled amicably.
Wipro launched FlexDelivery, aimed at offering a 360 degree services
capability for managing the application landscape of an enterprise spread across
the globe. It also launched Mandalaa global customer forum where its customers,
thought leaders, and senior management debate, exchange ideas and share best
