Companies like Perot have always ruled on their BPO and services might and
have tried hard to bridge the two when it comes to business wins. The company
says that its financial results globally progressed well in the last two
quarters with no noticeable impact of macro events. But at the same time it
acknowledges that the magnitude of the macro issues and resulting uncertainty
contributed to the impact expected late third quarter as new contract signings
push out. It is natural when there is a significant turmoil affecting the
business environmentdecision-making typically slows down. But Perot believes
that its clients experiencing financial pressures in their businesses may adjust
discretionary investment levels. So far, project reductions have been isolated
for the company, but clients which are formulating their plans to respond to
economic weakness, which could result in some project pressure, although the
extent and timing is somewhat uncertain.
Some significant highlights for the company were: it was selected to provide
IT infrastructure services to Moodys Corporationa six-year agreement that
extends its presence in the financial services industry; and winning the Windsor
Health Plan.
