Its Tulips first time into the Top 20; the key parameters that made it
happen include salary hikes, and employee growth opportunities and their average
tenure. The company though needs to work on its employee score.
Till about two years back HR was a mere extension of Tulips administrative
wing. However, the company now seems to have realized the importance of putting
HR processes in place. Tulip launched its online appraisal and formal induction
programs last year. It increased efforts toward employee engagement, fun-at-work
programs, safety measures, insurance policies including medi-Claim and so on.
As the company aggressively positioned itself as a telecom player, more sales
training programs were organized to impart training on business critical
applications. Tulip has some more plans on its radar for the current financial
year, as earlier the training was only on wireless applications.
At the senior management level, two people left within less than a year of
joining, indicating probem areas in retaining the senior workforce.
