Infinites acquisition of US-based Comnet International, a telecom-focused
outsourced product development and IT services player with a delivery center in
Chennai, marked the companys foray into the telecom space. The company
earmarked $30 mn for investment in the telecom space. It also planned to seal
two more acquisitions in the telecom and infrastructure space in Europe.
Consequently, Infinite planned to raise Rs 200 crore through an IPO to support
its inorganic growth as well as expansion of its facilities in Bangalore and the
NCR.

In FY 08, the company went in for an IPO and managed to raise Rs 126 crore.
The fund was raised primarily for setting-up infrastructure and to support
acquisitions. The company inaugurated a 85,000 sq ft Chennai facility. The year
also saw Zylog acquiring a number of companies including Chennai-based Ewak
Creative Compusoft and UK-based Anodas Software in the insurance segment. It
appointed Kannan Krishnan as director Asia Pacific and John Mehrmann as vice
