Subex completed Syndesis acquisition in FY 08 which helped it to expand its customer base, especially in EMEA. Syndesis contributed about 40% of its overall revenue. Fintur Group, Global Vision Telecom Group, Melita Cable, Econet Wireless, Telenor, Telekom Slovenije, and Bahamas Telecommunications were some of its wins during the year. It expanded its product portfolio and started a dedicated data integration management practice on the fulfillment side of the business.

Geometric Software Solutions rebranded itself as Geometric Limited last year. It acquired US-based TekSoft specializing in PLM solutions and renamed the wholly owned subsidiary as Geometric Technologies. It renamed the subsidiary company as Geometric Engineering and has made management changes. It acquired PLM adapters from MeritSpring Technologies AG of Switzerland. This enabled it to broaden its offering in the PLM interoperability space. The company has introduced products like Feature Recognition, NestLib, and GeomDiff Technology.

Supertron witnessed substantial growth in revenue from Acer, Seagate, Transcend, and Supercomp. It was very bullish on the Acer business which grew by almost 60%. Its in-house brand, Supercomp, launched new products every quarter and is planning to extend the brand offerings into PC components. It added Buffallo, a Japanese storage company for exclusive distribution of storage components and tied up with IBM for the server business. LCDs, flash drives, external hard disk drives, and SD cards were the hottest selling products last year.

Last year, the company launched an ODC in Trivandrum and focused on embedded software development tools. To improve its IT infrastructure, SFO made a decision to upgrade its existing IT set up and went in for ERP. It went in for Microsoft Dynamics. The company also created a centre of Excellence for Microsoft Dynamics NAV solutions aimed at addressing the ERP requirements of Indian and Global markets.

India emerged as one of the fastest growing markets for Adobe. The company almost doubled its investments in sales and marketing over the previous year. Adobe Indias MD, Naresh Gupta even gave out a feeler that the company might overshoot the $200 mn investment announced in 2006. The company announced plans to invest $100 mn, which will go into acquiring land and expanding its campuses in Noida and Bangalore. There were lots of noise on the user experience side.
