56 | Mastek
After years of posting double-digit growth, Masteks Rupee revenue grew by a
paltry 5% last year. The company has over the years focussed on the insurance
and government verticals, and entrenched itself well enough in the European
markets, especially the UK. However, the biggest bugbear for Mastek has been the
North American market; even though it constitutes some 26% of the overall
revenues, the revenues there dipped by 16% compared to last year. This decline
in the US could not be offset by single digit growth in Europe.

60 | SES Technologies
Following its acquisition by Sahara Computers, SES saw an exodus of key
managers from Sahara to SES thus revamping the top management. It was appointed
national distributor by ASUS for its range of motherboards, networking products,
LCD monitors, and notebooks. Philips Electronics also partnered with SES to
foray into the IT accessories and computer peripherals market. It added the HP
storage range to its kitty. Its services subsidiary, Ultima, continued to be an
important business line but its predominant focus was still on providing RMA
support.
