Jupiter International
Jupiter started a new innings last year when it forayed into the wireless
networking space. The company appointed Edimax as national distributor for its
wireless networking products. Its home brand Frontech (encompassing several
product categories) fetched good revenues, especially the UPS range. While its
component business grew substantially, Jupiter introduced several new models to
Frontechs existing product line, matching current technology trends.

Fortune Marketing
Even as Fortune Marketing faced a tough Q3 and Q4 in FY 09, this did not
deter the company from signing some new lucrative distribution contracts. These
included signing up as the third national distributor for Symantec India for
distributing the entire product portfolio under the Norton brand. Fortune was
also signed on by US based Infonova for distribution of high quality
surveillance products, and by PNY for distribution of memory products.

Synechron Technologies
During the year, insurance became a key vertical contributing almost 40% to
its revenues, up from 15% the year before. While focus on capital markets
continued, mortgage banking revenues dipped and Internet media grew to become
one of the four core domains with maximum customer wins. It deferred its much
awaited IPO due to the market conditions, but made a strategic acquisition of a
wall street boutique company called Syscore. It also expanded its RIM practice
with a sixty member team based in Pune.

Aftek Infosys
After a year of joint ventures, partnerships, and consolidations, FY 09 was
relatively devoid of action for Aftek Infosys. It embarked on a major de-risking
strategy across all businesses. Though it launched a few products, the lack of
significant customer wins led to the major dip in revenues. Nevertheless, it
successfully ported Android BSP with STB application which took Aftek a step
further towards developing complete Android based end-to-end solutions. The
company also entered the physical security and surveillance space with the
launch of SpyGuard security system.

DB Power Electronics
DB had nothing much to boast of in FY 09 as it continued with its usual
business of manufacturing power back-up solutions. The company focused on
upgrading its industrial and online product range with improved features like
unity power factor at input, low THDi figures and SNMP interface with diagnostic
features. DB had only wins from IT and BPO, manufacturing, data center, and
telecom.

Kingston India
FY 09 was a good year for Kingston for its Flash offerings; it particularly
saw good demand for its 1GB thumb drives. The company also focused on creating
more awareness for its flash removable media. Consequently, Kingston saw good
business in India for both thumb drives and SD cards. The lower excise duty of
4% for flash memory products in India also augured well for the company.
Meanwhile, its memory module (DRAMS) business also grew substantially, thanks to
its close tie-ups with many PC OEMs.

Red Hat India
The acquisition of KVM and the desktop virtualization capability (VDI) from
Qumranet enhanced Red Hats capabilities in the end-to-end virtualization space.
It increased the number of Red Hat certified engineers in India. The ISV
ecosystem also got broader with the launch of OSCI which helped increase Red Hat
partner base to 119 in India alone. The company bagged some key projects in the
e-gov space. It also roped in large customers like LIC, APTDC, Calcutta Electric
Supply Corporation (CESC), Axis Bank, Naukri.com, and Indian Express Group,
among others.

Affiliated Computer Services India
This was a huge growth year for ACS India operations as the economic
slowdown prompted the company to increase offshoring. Even as Philippines got
the voice BPO jobs, many of the managed infrastructure jobs were created in
India, taking the IT manpower to more than double. However, ACS has been slow to
capitalize on the growth of the government market, its strength in its home
base. It was apparently working with Maytas for IT on an infrastructure project
but was impacted as the Satyam scam broke.

Board for designing, erecting and commissioning sub-stations; a Rs 30 crore
order from Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam to commission thirteen new
