IBM Awards eSys
IBM has awarded eSys India as the Best Distribution Partner for the volume
business of X Series Server. eSys got the award for its best performance for
2007. eSys started IBM Volume server business in 2005 and the company has
maintained leadership position in this space. Apart from this award, eSys has
also won the Rookie Award at Partner World at Munic in 2005 and the best
distributor award for Volume X at business partner meet at Capetown in 2006.
INDIACom 2008 Held
INDIACom 2008, the second National Conference on Computing for National
Development, was held in collaboration with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha
University, Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers and
Computer Society of India.
Livelihood Mela in Jaipur
TeamLease Services, Indias largest staffing company, and the government of

Imation Appoints Lipi as National Distributor
Imation India, a subsidiary of Imation Corporation, has announced the
appointment of Lipi Data Systems, one of the leading printer manufacturer and IT
distribution company, as its national distributor for Imation range of products.
Imation shall leverage on Lipi Data Systems pan-India reach as it has 105 sales
and service offices, 22 warehouses in almost all major states, and 500
direct-billing dealers and several thousand resellers across every nook and
corner of the country under its fold, thereby reaching out to customers even in
remote locations. Its access to upcountry markets will be of immense advantage
for Imation as they have come to represent enormous business potential in the
recent past.
Riverbed Appliance Gets SAP Certified Integration
Riverbed Technology has announced that its Riverbed Steelhead Appliance,
running the Riverbed Optimization System (RiOS) version 4.0, has achieved SAP
Certified Integration for third-party networking appliances that interoperate
with SAP solutions using the SAP NetWeaver platform and an enterprise
service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA). With SAPs certification of
integration of the Riverbed Steelhead appliance, customers can be assured of
interoperability within SAP application-based landscapes.
Tata Elxsi Expands MoCas Global Reach
Tata Elxsi has become the latest company to join MoCA. Tata Elxsi is the
technology arm of the $73.6 bn Tata Group. Tata and MoCA are very much aligned
in their viewpoint and approach toward the delivery of video in the home and the
consumers appetite for digital media. We call it the media continuum which we
define as a seamless chain from the origin to the consumption of content, Nitin
Pai, general manager, Marketing, Tata Elxsi.
BT Acquires Frontline
BT Frontline has successfully completed the acquisition of Frontline
Technologies and the new company, called BT Frontline, will start operations
immediately. BT Frontline, a wholly owned subsidiary of British
Telecommunications, provides IT consulting, IT infrastructure services, systems
integration, and IT outsourcing to local, regional and multinational customers
across various verticals.
VMware to Invest in India
VMware has announced the opening of a new R&D facility in Bangalore and an
investment of $100 mn in India by 2010. The company also announced its plans to
double India-based engineering organization to more than 1,000 people in the
next two years. The company employs nearly 700 employees, including 500
developers across India.
Tata Comm to Chair WBA
Tata Communications has been elected to lead the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA)
as chair of the Alliance. Into its fifth year of operation, the WBA was created
to drive the adoption of wireless broadband technologies and services around the
world by developing a common commercial, technical and marketing framework for
wireless network interoperability.
McAfees Safety eBook
McAfee has announced that a new, 10-step Internet Safety Plan eBook is
available online through the McAfee Advice Center. The downloadable plan
includes age-appropriate, easy-to-understand Internet safety guidelines for
kids, tweens, teens, and newbies, providing tips for parents, educators,
community groups, and other influencers who want to educate consumers about
Internet safety.

CyberMedia Acquires TDA Group |
| CyberMedia,
South Asias first and largest specialty media house, has acquired
substantially all the assets of California-based TDA Group, integrated
marketing communications, and custom publishing company, in a strategic move
to expand the services business of the company.
Pradeep Gupta, chairman of CyberMedia, said,
It is a strategic move in growing our content-based services business
rapidly. TDA fits very well with our domain expertise in technology, and
expands the proven core competence of CyberMedia in content-related areas.
TDA Group provides a wide range of value-added services to an A-list of
high-tech clients including several of the global leaders in the IT
industry. Services provided by TDA include marketing consulting, content
development, web and graphic design.
This is CyberMedias second acquisition in
the US in the last sixteen months. CyberMedia had acquired Illinois-based
