Sahara Launches New Notebooks

Sahara Computers, a South African PC giant, has launched its latest entry level 8-inch laptop, S-NB522434-EB00 in the market. This latest model, a new addition to Saharas Image Book Series, is one of the smallest notebooks with 60 Gb hard drive, an 8 inch LCD TFT display screen and weighs just 1.1 kg. Sahara wants to break the Rs 30,000 price point barrier by launching sub-Rs 10,000 PCs and penetrate the B, C and D class cities in India.

Transcend Unveils High Capacity USB Flash Drive

Flash memory producer Transcend Information has unveiled its new high-capacity USB flash drivethe 16 GB JetFlash V85 in India. It measures just 49.5 mm long by 15.8 mm wide, and is thin enough (7.4mm) to slide effortlessly into tight-fitting stacked USB ports. The flash drive has sleek and refined compact zinc-alloy body and comes with a classy metal carrying chain.

Accenture, Sun Launch Enterprise Security Soln
Accenture and Sun Microsystems have launched the Accenture Smart Identity Solution, which is a pre-built, field-tested solution making it easier for businesses and governments to reduce security complexity, risk and cost. The solution merges physical and logical security, including biometric, and smartcard technologies, and provisioning and access management, into corporate applications such as SAP.

Acer Introduces New Laptops

Acer has launched the Aspire 6920 and Aspire 8920, a brand new notebook PC series designed to give the experience of High Definition (HD) display. Acer is first to market with 16 inch and 18 inch notebook series that features a full HD CineCrystal LCD, 8 ms response time and native 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio.

MPS Enhances BookStore
MPS Technologies BookStore platform has added new features with the aim of addressing the new challenges faced by the book industry. The new features on the platform include the MPS Technologies Widget, the viral marketing tool that enables readers and authors to place book content on social networking sites globally. BookStore is now fully integrated with social bookmarking sites and clients are also able to update their readers on new titles via RSS feeds and email alerts.

Serena Software has introduced the Serena Mariner 2008, via Software as a Service (SaaS) with the aim of enabling CIOs to run IT projects more efficiently. Intels Atom Processors
Intel has introduced five new Intel Atom processors and Intel Centrino Atom processor technology for Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) and embedded computing solutions. The Intel Atom processor will come in speeds up to 1.86 GHz, support Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology, and select SKUs will support Intel Hyper-Threading technology. These capabilities make it the fastest processor in the sub-3 watt space.

Ericsson has unveiled its M700 mobile platform, the worlds first commercially available LTE-capable platform, with peak data rates of up to 100 Mbps in downlink and up to 50 Mbps in uplink. These speeds match, or in some cases surpass, fixed-line data rates, enabling a superior user experience, supporting advanced real-time mobile services.
