TI, IIT KGP Pact for Medical Research
Texas Instruments has signed up with the School of Medical Science and Technology (SMST), IIT Kharagpur, to develop semiconductor technologies that will help improve the quality, comfort and accessibility of healthcare. The research projects being funded by TI at IIT Kharagpur will be undertaken by students holding BTech, MTech, MStats or MSc degrees with specializations in image processing, neural networks and pattern recognition, digital signal processor-based embedded system design, and MEMS-based bio-sensors.

BA Systems Ties-up with Microsense
BA Systems, enterprise core and edge managed router manufacturer has announced that Microsense, a WAN and Wi-Fi solution provider, will use its products while rolling out services in the hospitality sector. Microsense will use BA Systems routing solutions for high-speed wireless Internet access with perimeter and gateway security. Microsense has deployed BAs Routers across eight of its Network Operating Centers (NOCs) in India to provide managed connectivity for over 100 of its premium hotel customers.

MakeMyTrip Joins Hands With IBM Daksh
MakeMyTrip has announced a strategic tie-up with IBM Daksh to further enhance its customer service experience through process and technology innovation. The five-year contract for outsourcing contact services to IBM Daksh will involve augmentation of MakeMyTrips sales, customer service, and back office capabilities. As part of the contract, MakeMyTrip will outsource customer-support functions and after-sales support for the ticketing and hotels portfolio.

Tatanet Grabs Contract from TCIL
Tatanet, a division of Nelco, has announced that it received a multi-million dollar order for supply of Satcom equipment from Telecommunications Consultants India (TCIL). TCIL is implementing a multi-million dollar pan-African e-network project on a turnkey basis, funded by the Ministry of External Affairs. The network will provide telemedicine, tele-education, and services to fifty-three countries of African Union and VVIP connectivity (VoIP and Video Conferencing) among the heads of states.

Dhanus Passenger Info System for Kerala Buses
Dhanus Technologies has entered into an MoU with the Kerala State Private Bus Operators Federation for installing passenger information systems in all private buses across Kerala. Dhanus will provide FleeTrac services in over 20,000 private buses in Kerala. With this initiative, the transport owners in Kerala can provide passengers with instant information on location, arrival and departure timing, and proposed arrival time of the destination of every individual bus via Internet and SMS.

Citrix, NetApp Deliver Virtualization Solution
Citrix Systems and NetApp have recently announced a global strategic partnership to deliver a complete server virtualization solution capable of leveraging the power of NetApp storage solutions. Citrix XenServer Adapter for NetApp Data ONTAP enables customers to unlock the power of virtualized storage in Citrix XenServer environments.

Autodesk, IIT-M Sign MoU
Autodesk and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) have signed an MOU to establish an Integrated Construction Practice Laboratory. The laboratory will be the nucleus for a consortium of facility owners, contractors, consultants and researchers formed to address need-based research in the area.

Oracle to Do More
Aditya Birla Retail has selected Oracle Retail merchandising, planning and supply chain applications to drive its retail growth plans in the country. Oracle Retail applications will support Aditya Birla Retails different store formats and help in faster rollout of their hypermarkets named More across India.

Siemens Chooses MRAM
Siemens Industry Automation division has selected Freescale Semiconductors non-volatile MRAM technology for its industrial touch-screen application. Freescales 4 Mb MRAM device has been integrated into Siemens Simatic Multipanel MP 277 and MP 377 human machine interface (HMI) used in industrial automation systems. The user-programmable SoftPLC option enables the implementation of a comprehensive, expandable machine control system in a small form factor that helps reduce overall system cost.

Oxigens New Tie-ups
IT-enabled multi-services platform provider Oxigen Services India has announced tie-ups with two major bus ticket-booking platforms, redBus and Ticketwala.com. Users can use OxiCash to utilize the services of these two platforms. The tie-ups would be beneficial for those who prefer paying by cash to using debit or credit cards.
