Novell IDC in Bangalore
Novell, provider of interoperable Linux platform, inaugurated its 200,000 sq ft India Development Center (IDC), the largest facility outside the US, in Bagmane Tech Park, Bangalore. The company has also announced that it would invest $100 mn in India over the next three years. The new center can occupy 700 employees.

Tech Mahindra Expands
Tech Mahindra has set up a new 1.2 lakh sq ft development center at Mahindra World City in Paranur, Chennai, with an investment of Rs 30 crore. The facility will house about 1,400 software engineers. Tech Mahindra expects to scale up the facility, both in size and investments, in the next three-four years.

Cambridge Center in Chennai
Cambridge Solutions has announced the setting up of its new development center in Chennai. The facility will employ 200 persons and has a dedicated training facility.
The company already has facilities in Bangalore, Pune and Chennai. The new center will meet the growing requirements of our customers in the banking and financial services markets, said MR Ravichandran, chief delivery officer, ITO Division, Cambridge Solutions.

New Data Center by HDS
Hitachi Data Systems has announced the setting up of an eco-friendly and power-efficient data center. The data center is designed to achieve a 1.6 PUE rating by the Green Grid, the lowest power usage index of any data center in its class. The new data center is located in Yokohama, Japan.

Cartridge World Sets up 5 More Stores
Australian company Cartridge World launched five stores in India. The stores, launched on the occasion of Earth Day, are located in Bangalore, Kolkata and Mumbai. While Bangalore has three stores, Kolkata and Mumbai have one each, taking the total number of stores to thirty-two spread across India.

HP Grants $800,000 for Enterprise Development
Hewlett-Packard has awarded 10 grants, each worth $80,000, to micro enterprise development agencies in the country. The investments, part of the HP Micro Enterprise Development Grant initiative, are dedicated to the advancement of successful entrepreneurs in local communities The Micro Enterprise Development Grant program is part of HP's long-term community investment strategy to contribute time, knowledge and resources and help the continued social and economic development of communities around the world.

New Services by RTS
Trading solutions provider RTS Realtime Systems Group announced that it has committed to provide connectivity to the new European equity trading venue, Turquoise, which will be launched in September. Turquoise was established by nine leading European investment banks as a pan-European, open equity trading platform.

Expansion Plans in India by Targus
Targus Technologies, one of the leading system and network integrators has announced its plans to expand its footprint across India by shifting its head office to a new location in Gurgaon and has also opened a new branch office in Mumbai. The new head office is spread over a space of 15,000 sq ft with four floors. It is also planning to set up service support offices in three more cities in the second phase.

Satyam Center in Victoria
Satyam Computer Services has set up a new campus at the Geelong Technology Precint, Victoria. The new 25-acre campus will accommodate 2,000 employees over the next few years. The Satyam campus will house a software development center and facilities for training, research and development. As part of this initiative, Satyam will engage in a range of collaborative activities with Deakin.
