Oracle Ties up With AP
Oracle has signed an MoU with the Institute for Electronic Governance (IEG)
to introduce the corporate business and technology curriculum to the students of
Andhra Pradesh. The program will be offered to more than 50,000 students over a
period of two years. IEG is heading the states Jawahar Knowledge Center
initiative which works with engineering, MCA and degree colleges to increase the
employability of students.
Sun, Wind River Partners
Sun Microsystems and Wind River Systems have announced that Wind River will
port its Carrier Grade Linux (CGL) and Workbench development suite to Suns
UltraSPARC T2 chip multithreading (CMT) processor. Sun and Wind River will
provide the networking industry with a fully integrated, optimized and tested
solution of multi-core processing hardware and CGL.
KTLs MoU with Oceansoft
Kaashyap Technologies (KTL) has entered into an MoU with Oceansoft Information
System, China. KTL intends to penetrate the Chinese market in the areas of IT
training and building resources in the areas of SAP, IT security, and capital
markets to start with. KTL intends to use Oceansoft as its major partner and
penetrate into the Chinese market.
Shanda, Zapak Partner
Shanda Interactive Entertainment, a leading interactive entertainment media
company in China, has announced that it has granted exclusive right to Zapak
Digital Entertainment for operation of Shandas in-house developed online racing
game Crazy Kart, in India.
Zapak Ties Up With Kolkata Knight Riders
Online gaming portal Zapak Digital Entertainment, a Reliance ADA Group
venture, has announced a tie-up with Shahrukh Khans IPL team, Kolkata Knight
Riders. Zapak.com is the official Internet gaming partner for this IPL team. As
part of the partnership, Zapak will create a dedicated cricket zone on the
official website of Knight Riders. Ten cricket games will be custom-built
specially around Knight Riders and based on the response for these games, Zapak
will introduce more games in this zone.
MS, NDTV Media to Sell Ads on Facebook
Microsoft and NDTV Media have commenced advertising on Facebook in India
through its new advertising platform launched in India in February 2008. The ad
platform was launched initially with the existing Microsoft properties under the
MSN and Windows Live brand as well as three leading publishersBollywood Hungama,
Equity Master, and HDFC Secto simplify digital advertising and create a larger
ecosystem connecting advertisers and publishers.
Vitage Ties Up with e-DMZ Security
Vitage Technologies, IT Infrastructure and application management company, has
partnered with the US-based e-DMZ Security to bring to India granular,
clientless, plug-and-play solutions to simplify remote secure access and
password management. As part of the agreement, Vitage will sell e-DMZ products
in India and implement and support as well. The two award-winning products that
will now be available in India are Password Auto Repository (PAR) and eGuardPost.
Tata Elxsi, RV-VLSI Design Center Tie-up
Tata Elxsi, the embedded technology arm of Tata Group, has inked an MoU with
RV-VLSI Design Center (part of the RV group of educational institutions,
promoted by the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust) for imparting
industry-specific training in embedded technology. Tata Elxsi and RV-VLSI will
impart quality domain specific training to new engineering, MSc graduates (in
electronics and related branches) and working professionals looking for a career
change or skills upgradation.
Oracle, Satyam Tie Up to Build AIA for PLM
Oracle and Satyam Computer Services have announced a co-development
agreement to build Oracle Application Integration Architecture (AIA) Process
Integration Packs for Enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). Satyam will
collaborate with Oracles application development teams to create an enterprise
PLM integration solution between Oracles Agile PLM and Oracle E-Business Suite
solutions.
Unisys, EMC to Market EMC Documentum
Unisys has expanded its alliance with EMC to jointly market EMC Documentum,
a unified enterprise content management software platform. The global
cross-industry agreement enables Unisys to expand its team of Documentum-certified
consultants who implement and deploy EMC enterprise content management
solutions. The expansion of these Documentum services strengthens Unisys market
position and worldwide portfolio of enterprise content management solutions
built on best-in-class products from Unisys and its partners.
Accenture, ISB Initiative
Accenture and the Indian School of Business (ISB) have launched the Accenture
Management Development Academy in India, an online, classroom and on-the-job
training program designed to develop and nurture leaders from Accentures
mid-level management in India. The academy is designed to help distil best
practices from academia, industry, and also bring additional focus to the
critical delivery-management skills of Accenture professionals.
Solix Joins Suns MECA
Solix Technologies has joined Sun Microsystems MySQL Enterprise Connection
Alliance (MECA) partner program to bring Solix Enterprise Data Management Suite
to MySQL databases. Suns MySQL technology is used by some of the worlds
largest and fastest-growing organizations to save time and money powering their
high-volume websites, business-critical systems and commercial software.
Wipro, MS Extend Deal
Wipro Technologies and Microsoft have announced the opening of two Wipro centers
of Excellence to showcase Microsoft technologies at Wipros facilities in
Bangalore and Mysore. The centers will provide customers with an informative and
interactive experience where they can envision and evaluate specific business
and industry-based scenario solutions.
MS Partners With TiE
Microsoft and TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) have entered into a global
strategic partnership to promote and support local software economies across the
world. Led by the Indian subsidiary of Microsoft, this partnership will
facilitate global programs for startups and entrepreneurs.
According to the agreement, Microsoft will provide access to software,
services, technical guidance and markets while TiE will facilitate access to
nearly 15,000 entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, private equity firms, law
firms, and technology and management professionals.
SonicWall, Redington in Deal
Secure network infrastructure company SonicWALL BV has selected Redington to
manage its Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process in India. We found
that Redington systems and processes were scalable and reliable which were
essential given our rapid growth, said Abhay Solapurkar, director, Customer
