Edimax to Expand India Operations
With a focus on marketing and distributing advanced networking products, Edimax Technology announced its expansion drive to ramp up its operations in the Indian market. The company will also strengthen its regional sales team to represent four regionsDelhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata. Recently, the company also has invested in opening its corporate office at New Delhi. It has appointed two national distributors, Jupiter International and Neoteric Informatiqe.

Level 3 Expands Asian Content Delivery Network
Level 3 Communications is all set to expand its content delivery network capacity in Asia. The expansion is expected to significantly increase Level 3s delivery capabilities in the region and add new capabilities to deliver content in China. The increased access to these markets would provide new and existing customers in North America and Europe with a global content delivery solution.

Bay Talkitecs R&D Facility in Chennai
Bay Talkitec is expanding its research and development capabilities with a new 4,000 sq ft global R&D facility in Chennai. It will spend $2 mn in the first year of operations, focused on research and development for a wide range of technology products and platforms in the area of 3G mobile VAS, next generation contact center solutions, etc. It will start operations with 100 employees and plans to double the number in the next two years.

Zapak Explores Russian Market
Zapak is planning to launch casual gaming business in Russia through a joint venture route and is scouting for a potential partner. Half a million dollars would be invested to acquire content from East Europe. Games for the portal would be outsourced from Russian Developers. Simultaneously it would look at tie-ups with local Russian game developing studios to create games. Apart from Russia, Zapak also plans to explore China and Brazil.

iGATE Opens Mexican Operations
iGate has launched a new $2 mn facility in Guadalajara, Mexico. The new center would utilize local workers to offer near-shore iTOPS, IT and BPO services to a variety of Latin American and US clients. The facility plans to employ twenty-five staff in the near future, reaching 100 by 2010. The Mexican facility is the latest addition to the companys international network of locations in the US, Canada, Malaysia, Australia and the UK.

Qeep Forays into India
Germany-based Blue Lion mobile GmbH has announced the official launch of its services in India for its flagship product Qeep, social networking software developed on Java for mobile phones. It can be downloaded for free and installed on mobile phones enabling users to stay in contact with their friends from any place at any time and make new acquaintances. Qeep features private messaging, photo-blogging, live multi-player gaming and sound attacks.
