Freescale Acquires Intoto
Freescale Semiconductor has completed its purchase of Intoto, a provider of
software platform products for networking and communications equipment
manufacturers. With this transaction, Freescale also announced the appointment
of former Intoto CEO Sathyan Iyengar as vice president within the companys
Networking Systems Division. Intotos modular software architecture, broad
application-based platforms and engineering talent will enhance the existing
single core and multicore enablement.
Satyam Acquires Motorola Unit
Satyam has acquired 128 employees of Motorolas software development unit in
Malaysia. The acquisition would create synergies and boost their competitiveness
in Malaysia and throughout Asia-Pacific region. Motorola would divest from its
software development center (SDC) in Cyberjaya. It would move to Satyam along
with its 128 employees and unit assets. The SDC is part of Motorolas home and
networks mobility business and focuses on network management system development.
AT&T Acquires Centennial
AT&T plans to acquire Centennial Communications, a regional provider of
wireless and wired communications services, for $944 mn in cash. The transaction
will enhance AT&Ts wireless coverage for customers in largely rural areas of
the Midwest and Southeast United States and in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin
Islands. Centennials 1.1 mn wireless subscribers will have access to the
wireless network with the best global coverage and to the nations premier
lineup of innovative wireless devices, including iPhone 3G, an AT&T exclusive. Page(s) 1
