Persistent, IU Partnership
Persistent Systems has partnered with Indiana University, to create an R&D
center. Located in the soon-to-be completed incubator on the universitys
Bloomington, IN campus, the Persistent Indiana Research Center would further the
development of informatics, specifically life sciences product lifecycle
services, medical research, chemistry, bio informatics and computer science. By
leveraging the universitys many resources the Persistent Indiana Research
Center would advance the creation of service offerings to help customers improve
drug discovery and bioinformatics; cancer research; and instrument diagnostics.
SAS, Assetlink Tie-up
SAS has entered into a strategic alliance with Assetlink, a provider of
integrated marketing operations management solutions, to provide marketers
worldwide with a combined offering that would deliver greater efficiencies and
effectiveness to their marketing processes. Under this new global agreement,
Assetlink would integrate its marketing operations management suite with
enterprise marketing solutions within SAS Customer Intelligence.
3i, Karvy Partnership
3i Infotech Consumer Services has entered into strategic alliance with Karvy
Group, a financial services provider, to extend the reach of eMudhra Digital
Signature Certificates to the Indian consumers. Karvy Data Management Services,
a wholly owned subsidiary of Karvy Stock Broking, would be one of their
Registration Authorities and would be able to promote, sell and distribute
eMudhra Digital Signature Certificates to Indian consumers.
BIGFlix, mChek Join Hands
BIGFlix.com, a part of Reliance BIG Entertainment, Indias largest online-
offline movie rental services has joined hands with mChek, Indias largest
mobile payments platform to enhance its value proposition for its movie rental
customers. This partnership will allow all customers to use the mChek platform
to renew their membership plans with BIGFlix.com. This new service is the first
of its kind in the DVD rental industry and allows customers to renew their
membership plans with utmost convenience using their mobile phones.
ESPN Snaptu Deal
ESPN Cricinfo has announced a strategic partnership with mobile services
provider, Snaptu. Snaptus virtual application technology will enable Cricinfo
to deliver international cricket scores and news on a range of mainstream mobile
phones as well as high-end devices. Cricinfo is the only cricket application
available on the Snaptu platform. The Snaptu mobile platform converts premium
web content into fast, user-friendly applications in the mobile environment.
Adobe Launches Platform
Adobe Systems and Texas Instruments launched a technology collaboration to
optimize Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR, two key components of the Adobe Flash
Platform, for the TI OMAP mobile applications platform. TIs collaboration with
Adobe would allow manufacturers and developers to fully leverage the benefits of
the OMAP platform to reduce time to market while increasing performance and
reducing power on devices.
