Microsoft to Buy BigPark
Microsoft plans to buy BigPark Inc, an interactive online game company based
in Vancouver, Canada. Microsoft said the Canadian videogame maker would be
intergrated with Microsoft Game Studios, where the team will continue
development on an exclusive Xbox 360 game.
Integreon Acquires Onsite3
Integreon, a provider in Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) services, in the
legal industry, announced its acquisition of the e-Discovery assets of
Washington DC based ONSITE3. ONSITE3 specializes in electronic evidence
solutions for law firms and corporations. ONSITE3 had filed for reorganization
under Chapter 11 of the bankruptcy code earlier in 2009.
Tech Mahindra Gets 31% Stake in Satyam
Satyam says its new owner, Tech Mahindra, has completed the process for
acquiring 31% stake in the company. Tech Mahindra, via its subsidiary Venturbay
Consultants, has been alloted shares with 31% stake in the firm for Rs 1,756
crore.
Apple to Buy Twitter Microblogging sensation Twitter is once again in the
limelight with yet another acquisition rumor. This time the hot news is that
Apple is set to finalize a $700 mn deal to buy the microblogging
phenomenon.According to sources, the deal will be announced in June, 2009.
Facebook, Google and Microsoft are among others who had shown interest in
acquiring the microblogging site. Apples interest in purchasing Twitter could
be due to the tie-ups with the iPhone. iPhone applications, are big sellers for
Apple.
Dream ad acquired by Ybrant
India-based Ybrant Digital, a provider of digital marketing solutions, has
acquired dream ad, a major company with a strong presense in Latin America. The
brand dream ad will continue under the same name and be highlighted as A Ybrant
Digital Network. With this acquistion, Ybrant will strengthen its global
presence.
Victory Acquisition, Touch Tunes merger Terminated
Victory Acquisition Corp., a specified purpose acquisition company has
announced the termination of the proposed merger with TouchTunes Corporation, a
developer interactive digital entertainment systems. Victory will now be
liquidated as the holders of more than 20 per cent of Victorys common stock
issued in Victorys IPO voted against the merger and sought conversion. Victory
and TouchTunes had previously entered into a merger agreement according to which
TouchTunes would have become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Victory
