NIIT Trains in Gujarat
NIIT announced that it has entered into a contract with the department of education, Government of Gujarat, to introduce computer-aided learning in 1,870 high and higher-secondary government schools. The five-year contract, valued at Rs 843.8 mn, adds another state into NIITs portfolio after its recent foray into Rajasthan.

Wipro Gets Unitech Deal
Wipro Infotech has won a nine-year outsourcing contract from telecom company, Unitech Wireless. Under the agreement, Wipro Infotech will provide a range of information technology services to Unitech Wireless. There are reports that Wipro got the contract beating rivals including IBM, Tech Mahindra and Tata Consultancy Services.

Airtel Ties up with Alcatel
Indias leading telecom company Bharti Airtel has reportedly finalized an outsourcing deal with French-American networks major Alcatel Lucent to manage, build, and operate Bhartis fixed line operations. Reports estimate the value of the deal to be in the range of $200-300 mn spread over two years.

Redington-Citrix Deal
Citrix Systems, an application delivery infrastructure company, has appointed Redington India, a provider of IT products and support services, as its national value added distributor. Redington will distribute all products in the Citrix portfolio across India under this agreement. Citrix believes that there is huge market potential for virtualization across sectors in the country and plans to add hundred new partners by the end of the year.

Starbucks Renews Convergys Contract
Starbucks has renewed its contract with Convergys relationship management solutions for a further two years to enhance its facilities support operations. Convergys agents assist Starbucks retail employees in complex troubleshooting and equipment repair, as well as in identifying appropriate service vendors, issuing repair orders and tracking repair work.

Aditya Distributes 3DSoC Suite
Bengaluru based modelling company, 3DSoC has appointed Aditya Infotech as its value added distributor for the exclusive distribution of its VISPublisher Suite of products in India. The products help companies develop the next generation of 3D interactive, multimedia e-Manuals by leveraging the 3D/CAD assets of a company.

Mouser-TBU Agreement
Mouser Electronics will stock Bourns Transient Blocking Units circuit protection devices. The Bourns TBUs are high speed surge protection designed to protect against short circuits, AC power cross, induction, and lightning surges. Bourns has created four diverse TBUs with wide ranging impulse and RMS voltages, trigger current levels, and footprints.

Pro2col is EU Reseller
Data Expedition has appointed Pro2col, a supplier and integrator of file transfer and workflow technologies in the UK and Ireland, as an EU reseller of the high-performance file transfer software, ExpeDat. Its features include seven times faster WAN transfer speeds, tolerance for up to 50% packet loss and 20,000 milliseconds of latency.

ST Ties-up with FET
ST Microelectronics has entered into a commercial agreement with Front Edge Technology (FET), the California based developer of next-generation rechargeable batteries This new technology is meant to fill the gap created by conventional energy storage devices not keeping pace with the demanding size and high-density power requirements of todays cutting-edge electronic devices. The new devices, which are designed for consumers and industrial markets, demand innovative energy storage and battery technologies.

Zhejiang Purchases DEK Solar Metallization Line
Zhejiang Hongchen has confirmed the purchase of a further line from DEK, which has been designed to meet increased demand for cell production. Hongchen chose the new line for its ability to drive productivity, lower cost-of-ownership, and dramatically reduce delivery time. This is following the successful performance of a recently purchased DEK Solar PV1200 photovoltaic metallization line by Zhejiang.

GlobalLogic in Talks with IBM
GlobalLogic, a product development company, will use IBMs WebSphere software portfolio to develop new software applications for many technology companies and software-enabled businesses it serves. For independent software vendors (ISVs) that are members of IBMs global business partner ecosystem, GlobalLogic will establish individual product engineering labs to help them drive quality, innovation, and cost reduction across the full product lifecycle, according to the company.

Minicom Deals with Tech Data
Minicom Advanced Systems, a developer of KVM and Digital Signage solutions, has signed an agreement with Tech Data Corporation, an IT products distributor. Tech Data will offer Minicoms last mile high-definition multimedia distribution solutions for Digital Signage networks together with its diverse product lines of IP KVM and analogue KVM switches, extenders and IT access management solutions for the server room and data center.

SonicWALL, Synergy in Talks
SonicWALL Inc has partnered with Synergy Sales and Marketing (Synergy), a Maryland based government consulting firm, to formalize and enhance SonicWALLs federal, state and local government channel programs.This agreement will help SonicWALL to build on its existing success in the federal, state and local government markets.

MTNL Launches Blackberry Solution
MTNL will now offer both BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry Internet Service, as well as a choice of smartphones including the BlackBerry Bold, BlackBerry Curve 8310 and BlackBerry 8700g, to customers in Mumbai. The BlackBerry Internet Service, designed for smaller businesses and individuals, allows customers to access up to ten supported corporate and personal email accounts (including most popular ISP email accounts, such as Yahoo! Mail and Google Mail) from a single device.

FinnOne and Bajaj Auto Finance get Talking
Bajaj Auto Finance Ltd has selected Nucleus FinnOne Suite to provide support on customer acquisition, lending and collections for its lending business. FinnOne will help Bajaj Auto Finance Ltd design new products and enhance their offerings. This will help in integrating the functions of various business partners in the loan origination, servicing and collection process and will automate the payout calculations.

Samsung Deals with NAVTEQ
NAVTEQ, a provider of digital map, traffic and location data for in-vehicle, portable, wireless and enterprise solutions, has signed an agreement to supply NAVTEQ map data and content to Samsung Electronics. Samsung Electronics will launch the Samsung I8910 HD (OmniaHD) with NAVTEQ Map and content in May, in Europe.
