Oracle Powers BPCL Petrocard
BPCL is currently running on Oracles Online Database Application (DBA) service for its customer loyalty program, PetroCard. The PetroCard smart card application runs on Oracle Database, Oracle Application Server and Oracle Real Application Clusters. The online service monitors BPCLs database and application infrastructure to ensure smooth running of the loyalty program. Oracles online DBA service provides round-the-clock maintenance and infrastructure support.

HCL Bags MTV Deal
HCL Technologies has bagged an IT outsourcing contract from MTV Networks. The partnership will help MTVN brands in managing technology-led solutions in digital content creation, media asset management, community networking, and cross-brand programming, which will require the firm to develop online media platform for the popular entertainment channel. The contract covers leading brands of the network such as VH1, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon, apart from MTV, owned by the media conglomerate, Viacom.

VSI Implements SAP @ Kusalava
TVS Infotech, a global consulting and IT service company, has implemented SAP solution systems in Kusalava International, a leading manufacturer of critical engine parts. The SAP solutions were implemented in all of Kusalavas manufacturing and trading plants located in India and abroad covering production planning, quality management, plant maintenance, materials management, sales and distribution, and financial accounting.

CanvasM @ Paralympic World Cup
CanvasM, a joint venture between Tech Mahindra and Motorola, has delivered a trial of Motorolas TuVista software solution for BT at the BT Paralympic World Cup, held in Manchester. The solution enabled BT to deliver highlight content, such as video footage, direct to users mobile handsets via BTs Openzone Wi-Fi network before, during, and after the event.

ICICI Lombard Insures via Mobile
ICICI Lombard General Insurance announced a new mobile commerce service enabling customers to buy or renew their insurance cover using their mobile phones, in an easy, safe, and secure way. Customers can choose the product, pay the premium using a credit card and avail the insurance facility immediately, without the need for any paperwork. This will enable customers to make secure transactions while on the move or while out of the country.

Amadeus Partners Yatra
Amadeus, a global company into technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry, has signed an agreement with Yatra.com to distribute its hotel content on Amadeus Global Distribution System (GDS). This deal will mean that, for the first time, more than 1,00,000 travel agencies using the Amadeus GDS will be able to offer travelers a choice of over 900 one- to three-star and independent hotels in India.

Verisign Empowers Trend Micro
Trend Micro has reported its service renewal rate jump more than 8% after deploying Extended Validation (EV) SSL Certificates from VeriSign. Deployed in November 2008 on companys website (jp.trendmicro.com), VeriSign EV SSL Certificates have helped Trend Micro to provide online customers with immediate, visible reassurance that theyve reached a website whose identity has been verified and secured by VeriSign. The result has been an 8.4% increase in the number of online visitors who completed their renewal of their Trend Micro service subscriptions.

Toonz Signs Deal with Illusion
Toonz Animation India and Illusion Studios will co-produce a 3D feature film Gaturro, based on the famous Argentine comic strip Gaturro. Created by Christian Dzwonik, Gaturro chronicles the fun love story of two catsGaturro and Agatha. The deal is estimated to be worth $6 mn and the pre-production has already been completed. The film is expected to hit theaters world-wide by 2010.

Acxicom Selects CA
Acxiom, a global provider of interactive marketing services, has selected CA to enable its global IT infrastructure to adapt to the companys rapidly changing business needs. The deal, valued at $35 mn in products and services, includes more than sixteen solutions based on CAs Enterprise IT Management (EITM) vision, including application performance management, identity and access management, infrastructure management, mainframe management, project and portfolio management, and service management, among others. CA won the business in a competitive bid.
