BWIR Acquires think3 Engineering
Barry-Wehmiller International Resources, an IT and engineering consulting solutions provider, has signed the Letter of Intent with think3 of Italy, to acquire its engineering services division. The agreement would allow current and future think3 customers to leverage BWIRs broad service offerings, offshore model and global footprint.

Geodesic Acquires Interactive
Geodesic, a provider of mobile and desktop communication and entertainment solutions, has acquired Interactive Networks, a South America based provider of advanced instant messaging and value added solutions.

McAfee Buys Solidcore
McAfee has entered into an agreement to acquire Solidcore Systems for $33 mn in cash up front and with an earn-out of up to an additional $14 mn if certain performance targets are met. Solidcore is a provider of whitelisting technology that controls and protects the applications installed on a computer, resulting in improved IT compliance, security, and availability.

Yash Birla Takes Melstar
The Yash Birla Group, a 3,000 crore business house has forayed into the IT sector with the acquisition of Melstar Information Technologies, an application development software services company. Melstar is a service provider of professional consulting and project services and solutions. It has its head office at Mumbai.

Microsoft Acquires BigPark
Microsoft has announced the acquisition of the Canadian game developer BigPark, for an undisclosed sum. The Vancouver based industry startup has a staff of fifty and includes former executives from EA Canada and Distinctive Software. It has also spent the last year developing an exclusive video game title for Microsofts Xbox 360 gaming and multimedia platform.

SAP Buys Highdeal
SAP AG has acquired Highdeal, a provider of real-time billing solutions for telecommunications. The acquisition is intended to provide customers a packaged consume-to-cash business process platform to support high-volume billing, and enable a reduction in cost of ownership. Highdeal has more than 200 customer implementations in over fifty countries.
