WD Appoints HCLI Disti
Western Digital, global hard drive manufacturer, has appointed HCL
Infosystems as an authorized distributor in India. HCL will distribute WDs full
range of products, including internal hard drives such as WD Caviar, WD Scorpio
and WD RE product families, as well as external drives such as My Book and My
Passport. WD products will be available across HCLs 600 re-distribution
stockists and over 4,200 dealers located across 200 towns in India.
PMI Signs MoU with NICMAR
Project Management Institute, in its mission to champion the importance of
project management, has entered into an MoU with NICMAR, a leading educational
institute established by the Indian construction industry. The joint
collaboration will enable both organizations to explore opportunities to support
the development and advancement of project management in education.
Aricent Partners Cavium
Aricent, a provider of communications technology and services, and Cavium
Networks, a provider of semiconductor products, have announced their joint
collaboration. Under this, the companies will offer pre-optimized, performance
enhanced Aricent LTE eNodeB Layer-2 and Layer-3 stacks, and Aricent LTE eNBF,
for Caviums OCTEON multi-core MIPS64 processor family for LTE base station
applications. This is to create significant technology synergies, offering
eNodeB equipment manufacturers a high-performance solution for their LTE
platforms, while reducing time-to-market, risk, and cost.
Riverbed Ties up with Checkpoint
Riverbed Technology, an IT service provider, has partnered with Check Point
Software Technologies to provide enterprise customers a single solution that
combines Riverbed WAN optimization technology with Check Points leading
security software. The joint solution would help companies protect and safeguard
networks at remote and branch offices through a unique virtualized environment.
HP, Microsoft Expand UC Alliance
HP and Microsoft have announced a four-year strategic global initiative, at
Interop Las Vegas 2009, to deliver an end-to-end unified communications and
collaboration solution. Under this, the two companies expect to invest up to an
additional $180 mn in product development, professional services, as well as
joint sales and marketing.
HealthcareMagic Ties up with Atom
HealthcareMagic, worlds first portal connecting patients with doctors for
first line medical advice, has tied up with Atom Technologies to provide IVR
based payment option for their services. Patients can now interact with doctors
by dialing a landline number to obtain medical assistance for their illness or a
