IBM Bags Eureka Forbes Contract
IBM has signed a five-year business transformation and information
technology (IT) outsourcing agreement with Eureka Forbes, a health and hygiene
solutions company. The $15 mn deal is based on a risk-reward model and will help
Eureka Forbes achieve growth by aligning its IT to business strategy.
Tech Mahindra Extends Date
Tech Mahindra, which has got a controlling stake in Satyam Computer
Services, has extended the date for approaching the shareholders. This is in
regard to the open offer made by Satyam for the purchase of a 20% stake in the
company. SEBI had cleared the open offer recently.
IBM Partners India Glycols
IBM announced it partnership with India Glycols, and other value added
specialty chemicals, for enterprise information technology infrastructure
services. As part of the agreement, IBM will host and manage the IT
infrastructure including IBMs state-of-the-art Blade Center and NSeries storage
system solution.
TIBCO Ties up with HCL, VMware
TIBCO, a provider in IT services, has made alliances with HCL Technologies and
VMware to facilitate adoption and help enterprise customers realize the benefits
of cloud computing with TIBCO Silver. It is a platform designed from the ground
up for the rapid delivery of cloud applications inside the enterprise.
Tata Comm Partners with Qtel
Tata Communications has entered into a strategic alliance with Qtel, Qatar based
telecommunications service provider. This deal is made to strengthen both
companies network reach in the region and in the international space.
Juniper Ties up with NSN
Juniper Networks, a provider in network infrastructure has entered into a
joint venture with Nokia Siemens Networks, a major provider in
telecommunications services. The joint venture has been made to address the
Carrier Ethernet Transport market.
CSC Extends Contract with AMP
CSC, a provider in IT services, has extended its partnership with the leading
Australian wealth management company, AMP. The new six-year contract worth $99.5
mn was awarded during FY 09 fourth quarter.
Telstra Awards Contracts Worth $1.2 bn
Australian telecom major, Telstra confirmed that it has awarded outsourcing
contracts worth around $1.2 bn to Infosys, EDS and IBM.
Telstra announced that the vendor agreements are part of its IT
transformation plans to increase efficiency and streamline IT operations. The IT
transformation program has included an extensive analysis of both IT contracts
and systems.
