Oracle Buys HypeRoll Assets
Oracle has acquired the software assets from HyperRoll to improve the reporting
capabilities in Oracles financial management software. HyperRoll, a privately
held company based in Mountain View, California, provides software to large
companies to analyze large amounts of financial data from different sources, and
helps them close their books faster at the end of a financial quarter. Oracle
plans to add HyperRolls software to its Enterprise Performance Management
suite. The companies, however, have not disclosed the financial details of the
deal.
ValueFirst Acquires Cellnext
ValueFirst, a provider in enterprise and mobility communication services, has
announcedthe acquisition of M-VAS company, Cellnext Solutions. The acquisition
is a build up to ValueFirsts IPO plans. ValueFirst has seen phenomenal growth
and a massive scale up, engineered through a fast paced organic growth. However,
the Escorts Groups strong brand name enjoyed by Cellnext is also an important
criterion for the acquisition. Post acquisition, ValueFirst intends to run
Cellnext as a separate company.
Cisco to Acquire Starent
Cisco and Starent Networks have announced an agreement for Cisco to acquire
Starent Networks. Under the terms of the agreement, Cisco will pay $35 per share
in cash in exchange for each share of Starent Networks and assume outstanding
equity awards for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $2.9 bn. The
acquisition has been approved by the boards of directors of both companies. The
acquisition is expected to close during the first half of calendar year 2010.
