Dubais RTA on Google Maps
Dubais Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that Dubai has become
the first city across the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) regions to enter its
public transport network in the Google Maps. The new feature enables public bus
users, including residents, visitors and tourists in the the emirate, to plan
their daily travels in advance through this technology; which is easy to use and
accessible to all Internet users twenty-four hours a day. A statement to this
effect was made in a recent bilateral meeting during which an agreement was
signed between the RTA and Google.
Toonz Academy Signs Deal with ERC Institute
In an effort aimed at fostering closer collaboration on academic and educational
spheres, the Toonz Animation backed Toonz Academy has entered into an agreement
with Singapore based ERC Institute. The agreement would allow students at Toonz
Academy to get full academic credit to enroll themselves for the University of
Greenwichs Degree Program (BSc in Games and Entertainment Technologies).
Students can complete their degree program within one and half years in
Singapore.
Etisalat Signs Rs 750 crore Deal
Etisalat DB Telecom has announced an end-to-end outsourcing agreement with
leading BPO service providers namely Tech Mahindra, Aegis and Conflux. Valued at
over Rs 750 crore ($150 mn), the agreements will cover a period of over five
years. Under the terms of the agreements, Tech Mahindra, Aegis and Conflux will
set up state-of-the-art contact centers to provide a host of customer management
services including billing, collections, customer service and retention amongst
others. The centers will also be responsible for the complete management of back
office processes.
Enzen Unveils TMS
Enzen Global Solutions, an upper quartile energy and environment consultant
recently launched Transformer Management System (TMS) for distribution companies
to keep track of transformer performance and its physical conditions. HESCOM, a
distribution company in Hubli is the first to go live with Enzens TMS software.
The system collects the data from the transformer and interprets it using online
models to assess the condition of the equipment and diagnose the problems before
they appear. By implementing Enzens TMS, HESCOM is able to make substantial
reduction in their operational expenditure.
AP Grameena Vikas Bank Selects IBM
Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank (APGVB), one of the largest Regional
Rural Banks in India, sponsored by the State Bank of India, has selected IBMs
robust hardware platform to run its mission critical core banking application.
APGVB, after careful evaluation chose to implement IBMs System x servers,
across their 530 branches.
Wipro Wins Delhi Airport Outsourcing Deal
Delhi International Airport (DIAL) and IT major Wipro, have announced a ten-year
total outsourcing agreement to provide world class IT infrastructure and
services for Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), New Delhi. Under the
terms of the agreement, Wipro would hold 74% in the JV and DIAL will hold 26%
stake. The agreement was signed by PS Nair, CEO, DIAL and Anand Sankaran, senior
vice-president and business head, India and Middle East, Wipro.
Nokia Signs Five-year Pact with Tanla
Nokia has signed a five-year agreement with Tanla Solutions to use the latters
licence management, mobile payments and professional services. While the licence
manager helps in keeping track of the licence periods of various applications
offered on Nokia smartphones, the mobile payment option will allow transactions
between the users and Nokia for payments for various applications. It will
enable transactions in 160 countries through mobile operators and credit card
