Rao and Murty @ IAMAI


The Internet and Mobile Association of India has appointed Shailesh Rao, managing director, Google India as the chairman and Ambareesh Murty, country manager, eBay India as the vice chairman. Sanjay Aggarwal, general manager, operations, IRCTC, the largest e-commerce site in India, has been appointed the treasurer of the association.

Astronaut to Send Tweets
NASA astronaut Mark Polansky, commander of the next space shuttle mission to the International Space Station (ISS) would be sharing updates about his training and flight on Twitter in June. The flight is targeted for launch on June 13, 2009. Apart from posting tweets about his crews training, Polansky will also select video questions submitted by followers.

Raghevendran as Cisco VP
B Raghevendran has been appointed as vice president, channel operations and commercial strategy, Cisco India and SAARC. In his new role Raghevendran would build and lead Ciscos partners efforts in the region. Raghavendran would succeed R Dhamodaran, who headed Cisco Indias channel operations and commercial strategy over the past year and has recently taken on a new role at Cisco Globalization Center East.

Karnik Joins Intuit Board


Intuit, Americas most well-known company providing financial and tax planning solutions for small businesses and individuals, has constituted an India Advisory Board to study Indias unique requirements and create solutions. Kiran Karnik, ex-Nasscom chairman and the chairman of Satyam Board has been appointed to the Borad. The other appointee to the board includes ex-ICICI banker and microfinance expert Nachiket Mor.

Chatterjee Joins CA India
CA India, has appointed Amit Chatterjee as vice president, area sales and country manager. Chatterjee previously was head of alliances for HP Software across Asia Pacific and Japan, after serving as HP Softwares India country leader for more than seven years.

Hacker Breaks into Obamas Twitter Account


A French hacker, has claimed that he had hacked into Twitters internal system last week, giving him access to millions of accounts including high-profile users such as Barack Obama, Lily Allen and Ashton Kutcher. This is supposedly the first time anyone has managed to hack into Twitters internal administration system.

Chhibbar Joins EXL
ExlService Holdings, has appointed Vishal Chhibbar as its chief financial officer. Chhibbar is a chartered accountant and holds a bachelors degree of commerce from DAV College, Dehradun.

Anil Nair is Avaya MD


Avaya GlobalConnect (AGC) has appointed Anil Nair as the new managing director. Nair has been with the company since 1997 and is an advanced MBA from XIM Bhubaneshwar and ISB-Kellogg Business School, Chicago, with twenty-eight years of work experience.

Kamath on Infosys Board
Infosys Technologies has appointed KV Kamath as an additional director to its board. Kamath is the non-executive chairman of the board of directors of ICICI Bank. Kamath has a degree in mechanical engineering as well as one in management studies from IIM-Ahmedabad.

Ashwani Datt is CMD, BEL


Bharat Electronics has appointed Ashwani Kumar Datt as the CMD of the company. Ashwani succeeds VVR Sastry, who retired. Having graduated in mechanical engineering from Delhi University in 1972, Datt joined BEL at Bengaluru in January 1973

3Com Appoints Holzworth
3Com, has appointed Murray Holzworth as a regional program director for its Asia Pacific operations. Holzworth will be responsible for developing and implementing a program to increase the companys market share in the region.

Ajay Mehra on Geometrics Board


PLM solutions and technologies company, Geometric has included Ajay Mehra in its board. Mehra is a partner with BMR & Associates and has over sixteen years of experience in taxation.

Natta to Lead MySpace


MySpace has roped in a former Facebook executive as its new chief executive. Owen Van Natta will begin work immediately as MySpace chief executive. He will succeed Chris DeWolfe, a co-founder of MySpace.

Kato Joins Epson India
Epson, has appointed Eiji Kato as the new country head. Kato, who has replaced Etsuo Fujita, has a bachelors degree in ceramic materials from Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan and enjoys tennis and cooking.

Raj Nathan on USIBC Board


Senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Sybase, Dr Raj Nathan, has been appointed to the board of directors of the US-India Business Council, a premier business advocacy organization representing 250 US investors in India as well as Indian companies. USIBC aims to strengthen US-India commercial ties.
