What are the new technology trends in videoconferencing?
There are two major technology trends impacting this industry. The first trend is the emergence of unified communications. The proliferation of IP is making three different technologiesvideo, voice, and datamerge. IP is making more bandwidth available and unified communications is making the technology more accessible for the user. In the future, doing a video call will be as natural as doing an audio call. Secondly, the quality of video has improved over the last few years. The arrival of high-definition videoconferencing has taken the experience to a new level and has introduced the user to new applications of video.

Which segments are you targeting in India?
The most important market for us is the enterprise sector, where we are strong in the finance, oil and gas, and technology sectors. The public sector is also growing, and more and more public departments and ministries are realizing the productivity benefits of visual communication.

What are your plans for green IT?
Video is among the greenest technologies that existwe have customers saving more than 13,500 flights and reducing carbon emissions by over 5,000 tons after the implementation of our solution. We are also focusing internally by having environmental reviews of all product development processes, to make sure our products environment-friendly.

We also have several initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint in the way we run our businessusing our own technology being the major contributor.

What are the advantages of unified communication technologies?
Unified communication will be a key driver in the growth of the communications industry. Unifying voice, video, and data communication is the true convergence realized on IP network. Video is and will be the key differentiator, being the truly new communication medium giving productivity benefits that were never seen in communications technology.
