What are the various strategies adopted by your company to innovate and bring efficiency in your offerings?
Our business can be aptly described as a cost saving one as we do not offer new cartridges, rather refill the old ones. Thus, we enable our customers to save on costs as continuous use of new cartridges is costly. Offering refilling services enables us to play a small but effective role in doing our bit for the environment as we prevent more new cartridges from being manufactured. These are some aspects of our business which have ensured that even strong winds, like the recession, leave our company untouched. Instead, this period has seen a boom phase for our company. Ours being an environment-friendly business helped us to leverage on this aspect and move a step further. During the so-called lull phase that many witnessed, we convinced our customers that by refilling cartridges they could save on costs and also protect the environment. Hence, we ensured that we remained unaffected by the recession.

Even certifications like ISO 9000:2000 added value to our array of offerings. It can be described as one valuable step in the right direction. We have set up various departments to offer different services, which would in turn help in value addition by increasing customer base and profits.

Any newly applied strategy that has yielded good results for you?
Our commitment towards our customers has translated into rewards over the period of time. We have started a service wherein we have promised to give free refilling services to our customer if we are not able to serve him within three hours. This is something which no one in the market is offering. At times, it so happens that the refilled cartridge can also damage the printer, which is of rare occurrence. In such cases, we have promised our customers on providing proof, complete reimbursement of repair charges or replacement with a new printer. This is also something that no one in the market offers, as of now.

What about new offerings in the pipeline?
We do have certain plans, but they are still in a very nascent stage. As for other plans, currently we have approximately 150 stores, which we intend to increase to 1,500 in the next five years. Apart from this, we also intend to foray into international franchising. Also, we have plans to set up an R&D center and an international training center catering to cartridge refilling at Pune. Ours is an environment-friendly business, and with every strategy we want to ensure that we bring in efficiency and turn a new green leaf.
